The first aid station has been in service for a long time but, where previously the reception and care of children with injuries and other medical problems had to be done by the local teacher in the classroom, we now have a separate area so that focussed assessment and assistance can be provided.

Children are cared for every day. There are many wound injuries, especially on the feet and legs. At the time of the monsoons many children come with high fever, fungal infections or wounds and only appropriate medication can bring solace.

So the need for care is very high. There is a continuous shortage of sterile material, compresses, ointments and other medication care. In the past, we have looked into how we could cooperate with other NGOs, such as the Red Cross and local emergency services, but unfortunately this has proven impossible.
