We are delighted to report that the trustees of The Sir James Roll Charitable Trust (UK Registered Charity Number 1064963) have awarded us the generous sum of £1,250.

The Sir James Roll Charitable Trust was established in 1997. It has made a number of awards to us in recent years for which we are very grateful. It's objectives are recorded as follows:

  • The promotion of mutual tolerance, commonality and cordiality in major world religions.
  • The furtherance of access to computer technology as a teaching medium at primary school levels.
  • The improved access to computer technology in community based projects other than political parties or local government.
  • The funding of projects aimed at early identification of specific learning disorders.
  • Such other charitable object or objects in any part of the world as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion think fit to support or establish.

SISP's activities accord very well with these objectives.

The Trust is named after The Reverend Sir James Roll, Bt, who died in 1998 aged 85. He was known as a kindly, humble, self-effacing old vicar with a heart of gold. He cared for the sick, the elderly, the housebound and anyone in trouble. Children were his special delight - he supported chidren's charities and established a children's holiday home. He also had a great love of animals and gave large donations to animal charities.
