2nd May, 2009

On Saturday, April 25th, a plaque was unveiled by a delegation from the Rotary Club in Thiruvananthapuram. Two years ago the Rotary Club in Mechelen Opsinjoor, Belgium, took the initiative to support SISP and through them a Matching Grant was organised.

This was a joint initiative of four Rotary Clubs: Opsinjoor Mechelen in Belgium, the Rotary club of Suburban Trivandrum in India, Bourg en Bresse, Jacobins in France and Chippenham, Wiltshire Vale of Great Britain. They raised money to contribute to the purchase of equipment for the workshops, furniture for the school, the borewell and the entrance drive.

During the past months and weeks, a delegation from Rotary Trivandrum Suburban carried out unannounced spot checks at SISP and, as a result, it was decided that they would support us. To commemorate the event a plaque was unveiled by the cooperative members of the local Rotary Club after speeches to the public and to SISP's students.

Our thanks go to the Rotary Club for their commitment and confidence in SISP's operations in India.
