New Computer Lab

10th September, 2008

Thanks to generous sponsorship from the Netherlands we now have a computer lab with seven modern computers in it and a further six computers for the staff.

We have partitioned off the end of the upstairs hall to provide an area where all our students can now have the chance to learn to operate PCs.

The computers are all networked together and the network has been extended to include the administration office and social workers' area, the office of the manager and headteacher, and to teacher George's area.

The computers have a basic suite of office programs installed so students and staff can learn to use programs for presentations, word processing, spreadsheets and databases, as well as a simple drawing package.

In this way we hope to improve the opportunities for our students in the employment market.

Even Headteacher Ms Kumari has a computer on her desk. What a difference compared with the situation we have endured for the last twelve years!

We are convinced that this development is an enormous progress for the staff and the students at SISP.

Thank you again, Netherlands, for the new possibilities you have opened up for us!
