When we started out in 1996 we had little idea of the scale of demand for educating the poorest of the poor in this area, nor the considerable need for social and medical support. In those days, when we were getting established, it made sense to rent a house which could be adapted according to our needs. Therefore Sharman Villa, on Harbour Road, Azhakulam, near Vizhinjam, was ideal for our early requirements. However, such was the demand, we were soon occupying every bit of usable space - even the entrance hall and the goat shed had to be pressed into use! In addition, the rent increased little by little over the years and these pressures forced us to consider building our own purpose-built school. With the extremely generous support of our sponsors we raised sufficient capital to start construction early in 2007 with the hope that the work would be completed by the end of the year when our tenancy agreement expired. However, as is often the case, everything took longer than we expected, but we finally moved into our lovely new buildings on 14th July 2008. Below you will find links to progress reports - from the laying of the foundation stone to the occupation of our new premises. This was a very exciting project for us and we hope that you will share some of the sense of that excitement in these reports. Progress reports
