16th July, 2008 |
Inauguration of the New Centre 14th July 2008 It was an unforgettable celebration. The entire building was beautifully and colourfully decorated, and everyone wore their finest clothes for the celebrations. Schoolchildren and parents, elderly beneficiaries, delegates from the women's groups, teachers and pupils, social workers and special dignitaries and neighbours were all present at the inauguration of the new SISP Centre. Mr. Mohanan, chief of social and community work for the government, expressed his praise and thanks for the selfless commitment and the vital work of SISP in supporting the poorest. Paul replied modestly that anyone with a caring heart would have done the same and talked about his dreams and hopes of what might be achieved together, and his belief in sharing and creating opportunities for the poor and neglected. He paid special mention to the sponsors from many countries - it was thanks to them that this new centre had been built, because of their confidence and faith in the future of SISP. Paul therefore urged everyone to cooperate and to continue to own a new future through the education and support offered by SISP. After the speeches, lunch was offered to everyone and then there was a great spectacle with music, dance, and dramatic sketches and plays. There was exuberant and heartfelt laughter and dancing - this day will be a happy memory of friendship and joy for years to come! background and earlier reports
