Workers from within the local community of Kovolam have been recruited to work in constructing our new SISP centre. This benefits these people by giving them an income to support their families and, additionally, young unemployed men and a few women get the chance of acquiring work experience.

On-site material such as rocks and sand is used for building the boundary walls. The stone cutters cut down the large rocks into smaller, more manageable, pieces. The biggest pieces are used for the foundations on top of which the boundary wall can be built using less-coarse pieces.

Under the supervision of the yard leader and the architect everything is constructed according to conventional standard Indian practice.
